Early Move-in Registration for Individual Students

This form is designed to collect information from individual students who need to request an Early Move-in. This information will be shared between Residence Life, Sodexo Food Services, and the Physical Plant team to best meet your early arrival needs.

Early Move-in Student Information

If you are a new international student, new transfer student, or any other student sponsored to move in early, PLEASE DO NOT FILL OUT THIS FORM. Your sponsor will register you for an early move-in date. If you are unsure if you are being sponsored please email reslife@truman.edu.

To be eligible for Early Move-in, a student must:

Be enrolled in Fall classes and have a housing placement for the Fall semester, AND
Be an approved participant of a university office that is sponsoring your Early Move-in, OR
Receive approval from Residence Life for a justified need to arrive prior to opening
- Reasons likely to be approved:
  - On-campus student employment with a start date prior to move-in
  - Student’s flight arrives prior to move-in (no earlier than Monday, August 4)
  - Student is traveling from 6 or more hours away
- Reasons not likely to be approved:
  - Off-campus employment
  - No reason provided in registration submission

Terms & Conditions for Early Move-in:

To ensure your Early Move-in request is processed, registration requests must be submitted by 5:00 pm on Monday, July 28. Late submissions: Registrations submitted after July 28 will not be guaranteed. If housing assignments can be arranged after July 28, there will be a $50.00 processing charge, per student. If any changes are needed after submission, you must contact the Residence Life Office at reslife@truman.edu.

You will be allowed to move directly into your Fall housing placement. The Residence Life Office (Missouri Hall 1100) will be open from 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday for you to pick up your keys. The building will be locked; you will need to contact the office (660-785-4227) to gain entry once you arrive to Missouri Hall. Requested times to move in must be during business hours (8:00 am - 5:00 pm Monday through Friday), requests to move in outside of that time will be denied.

There is a nightly charge of $27.00 for housing and $21.75 for meals ($48.75 total). Charges will start on the date of your move-in until the date designated for First-Year and Returning students move-ins, respectively.

Charges will be applied to your Student Account, no later than the first two weeks of classes.

Please allow at least two business days to process your early move-in request. Students requesting early move-in will be contacted via email regarding their approval status. Please note that not all requests will be approved.
